Great read!!! Loved it. Fun and light mystery with just enough wackiness to please any one!!!
This is a delightful mystery set in Scotland. While the mystery is a good one and the characters interesting (Susan, the Scottish history buff and James, the son of Highland nobility), what is most fun is the very atmospheric evocation of Edinburgh and the Highlands. Peters manages to convey lots of Scottish history and legend in this book while keeping it very readable. I highly recommend this for anyone travelling to Scotland. It will heighten enjoyment of the trip.

Just finished this one yesterday. It's one of those that's hard to put down. I down rated it from a 5 to a a4 only because some parts were pretty unbelievable. Nobody can be that lucky and hardy. On the other hand the ending made me laugh out loud. Something very few mysteries are able to do.
I love Elizabeth Peters' writing, but I simply couldn't get into the story on this one. i may try to read it agan sometime; maybe I missed something.
