This was the most disappointing books I have read in awhile. I have read all this series even though they there are longer times inbetween the books being released but this book was just boring and had typos. You got to see what really happened between Damien and Alanna that night 6 years ago but it picks up 1 year after Damien has been home and Alanna has basically been ignoring him. All of sudden she wants to talk but they get to her apartment and she doesn’t want to talk anymore. And this was pretty much how the whole book would go. Nothing exciting happened just same daily dialogue, then the next chapter would say “two weeks later”, and then the same things again, and then the next chapter would say “three weeks later” and so on and so on. I found Alanna very annoying. She would tell Damien one thing or in one case promise him something and then get back to her place and basically say forget it, not happening or not talking, no reason why. There wasn’t too much from Damien and I didn’t feel much chemistry.I always wondered why these books are titled after the male character but never from the male POV. I would have loved to read Damien’s POV.
The book became a little less boring after 85% when the drama or finale happened. I could see it coming from the beginning so it wasn’t a surprise. I hate giving 1 stars and I have gone back and forth between 1 or 2 stars but just the fact I paid $3.99 for a book I have been waiting a long time for and was bored reading it cause not much happened really disappointed me. Especially since I love this series and have reread a few of the books. I know this author has big plans for spin off series which I will probably give one more shop but I hope they have two POV.

DAMIEN Slater Brothers Book 5 edition by LA Casey Editing4Indies Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews
Damien is the 5th book in Slater brothers.
I've been hanging for Damien's book. I've always loved the mysterious vibe he lets off and well lets just say this book didn't disappoint.
So we all know that Alannah has always had a thing for the white haired brother Damien, they have a complicated history, but the hurt Alannah still feels is making it hard for her to move forward.
Damien has changed and matured over the years, the distance between himself and his brothers and friends has made him realise what important and what he wants which is Alannah.
He will fight for her but can she let go of the past to reconnect with the love of her life?
This book has some twists and turns you didn't see coming that will keep you on your toes , secrets are revealed that leave you gobsmacked.
New characters are introduced which i loved and well we still get entertained by Alec he literally had me in stitches with his Clown issues, Cup and Trampoline scences 😂😂 You need to read the book to understand.
5 out of 5 for Damien. L.A. Casey gives us the last Slater brother and with just a little heartbreak Damien Slater and Alannah Ryan finally get their HEA. I love the Slater brothers and their women. Damien has suffered much loss in his 24 years, and instead of it making him hard, he remains a lost, sensitive soul who can’t see how loved he really is or where he fits among his brothers, and for that reason, he broke Alannah’s heart when they were 18 year old. She loved him so much she thought she could handle whatever came with him, and quickly found out she couldn’t. Damien is so torn up by what happened between them and other events that went down at the same time, he leaves Ireland and returns to the States. When Damien returns to Ireland, we get to watch him fight his way back into her heart, even though she really doesn’t want to let him in. Alannah has to overcome some demons of her own in order to truly give them a chance. Just when we think they’ll be okay the past rears its ugly head.
L.A. gave us the tragedy, the sexy, and the funny with Damien. I loved all 5 books, but this one made me laugh out loud.
Damien should not be read as a stand-alone. To get the true history of the Slater brothers and get Damien’s full story, all should be read in order.
Damien was probably one of my most anticipated reads this year. Hell its been one of my most anticipated reads for years if I’m honest. The last slater brothers story to be told and in my opinion the best one and that’s saying a lot because I have loved this series from the beginning.
Damien for me was the story I wanted, no needed the most. His past is painful and so sad and it’s the one that broken my heart.
Alannah she for me is the innocent one out of all of the women in this series. She has a heart of gold and will do anything for her friends and her family. Which is why I think she is perfect for Damien.
These two have a rough start in this one reconnecting with each other after all those years have gone by. Alannah is clearly guarding her heart and rightfully so after having it shattered by Damien. As soon as i started reading this book I was instantly transported to the moment and instantly felt what she felt as if no time had past.
This book was amazing and at many times throughout I could feel the hurt and the pain. Call me a masochist but I live for those angsty moments where you feel like your word may fall apart because you may have lost the one you love and this story at times gutted me completely.
Damien oh I knew I would love him and I did. I loved his patience, his vulnerability and I loved it when he went all Alpha. And I loved that Alannah came out of her shell and stood up for herself when she needed to. Even though she’s so sweet and innocent she’s also tough. Not too mention that we see her break out of her shell a bit in this and at times that had me saying hell yeah girl show him what ya got !!
At the same time however and what I absolutely love about The Slater Brothers is that there are also so many moments where I found myself laughing so hard. Whether it was because Nico was being well Nico and Bronagh was going to blow. Or Alec was being completely over the top because well let’s face it, he’s a bit of a drama king. LOL
But that’s the thing with a great series. You fall in love with the characters. They all bring something to the table. They all are unique and add something to the storyline whether they are the main focus or not and you just want to live in their world even if it’s for a few hours a day.
LA Casey always manages to create those moments for me where I find myself so wrapped up in what is happening. From the chemistry between Damien and Alannah, to the hilarious bickering between them all and even the moments where you waited on baited breath to find out what would happen next this book hit me in all the right spots.
I want to reread it immediately.
If you have never read this Slater brother series then you are seriously missing out. One of my top fav series ever which I’ve reread more times then I can count.
